Okay, here is what I know. This is the Taylor Park Brockbank family. The picture was taken in August of 1932. Top row Left to right: LaVon Johnson, Winona Cooke, Elaine Evans, Vaoma Jensen, Glenice Keys. Bottom row, left to right: Loren Brockbank, Taylor Park Brockbank, Sarah LeCheminant Brockbank, Bernard Park Brockbank.
Vaoma was my father's mother. She, unfortunately, is the only one of these people I remember. She was funny and creative and small. Her home smelled of perfume and Jergen's lotion and glittered in places. She was a home decorator, a realtor, a seamstress, and a true artist. Some of my most cherished memories of this lady are visits in her home with my cousin Darcy. We would make things. I remember decorating a wooden jewelry box using pictures we had taken from a magazine. When it was finished I thought it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. I know now that my grandmother had devastating headaches and pain in her back that was so severe that she couldn't sleep yet she would allow Darcy and I to sleep in her bed. Grandma loved a good story, which made her a perfect match for Grandpa who could really tell some wild ones.
Do you have memories of any of these people? I would dearly love to get to know them better. Please share.
ALSO, in the newspaper caption I took this information from Vaoma's last name is listed as Johnson. I know that isn't right. If I've listed anything else incorrectly, please let me know.
